Mark is a passionate person about history in Portugal. He is a wealth of knowledge and brings to life the history of Tomar/Portugal. Templars to synagogues, he knows and tells the stories of the past. He also knows all the nooks and crannies and places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed his tour and his recommendations... would recommend to anyone. Good pace but there is a wee bit of stair climbing so just be aware.

Mark did a fabulous job and is a good storyteller keeping us engaged and entertained while providing some interesting historical information about the Knights Templar in this area.

The tour was interesting, a must to see the castle but be prepared for a lot of steps. Seeing the synagogue was a real eye opener.

The history of the inhabitants of Tomar is revealed through stories as you walk through the back ways and garden park of Tomar. Scaling the walls of the ruins above the town gives an impressive view!

Mark was the BEST guide I’ve ever had and I’ve traveled a lot! He was informative with tons of stories about everything in Tomar and beyond, told with a great sense of humor and storytelling skill. He was patient when I needed to stop and rest my newly twisted ankle and checked in with me to see if I needed to adjust the route because of it. Loads of charm, wit, and fun!!

Mark is very knowledgeable (and a funny guy) which made the walking tour informative and a bit of fun. It was bloody hot and you need moderate level of fitness to get it done. Recommended.
