I only had a short time in Tomar and wanted to really understand its rich and fascinating history. Mark was the perfect guide — knowledgeable, engaging, and full of humour. His tour brought the ancient town to life with stories, insight, and personality. It was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken — truly a 10 out of 10 experience. Highly recommend!Posted on Google Toni ParkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Five Stars – Because Six Isn’t an Option! If you've ever wanted history and humour then this guided tour of Tomar is perfect for you. Our guide Mark was basically a human encyclopedia with a stand-up comedy side gig. He somehow made 12th-century monastic politics sound like an episode of "Game of Thrones" — minus the dragons, plus more cloaks and cobblestones. Highlights included: A castle that looks like it fell out of a fantasy movie set (just add fog and a brooding knight). A convent so beautiful it made me temporarily consider a vow of silence (don’t worry, it passed). Learning that aqueducts are surprisingly cool. Like, Roman-engineering level cool. By the end, I had taken 10,000 steps, 97 photos, and one solemn vow to return with looser pants and more friends! 10/10 would follow our guide into battle or at least another walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and prepare to fall in love with Tomar (and possibly your guide, if you’re into witty historians with a flair for dramatic storytelling).Posted on Google Melanie CorbettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you're visiting central Portugal and looking to immerse yourself in rich history, stunning architecture, and a touch of mystery, this walking tour of Tomar is an absolute must. I recently had the pleasure of taking this tour, and it exceeded all expectations. Our guide was Mark, was humorous, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Tomar’s unique heritage. We began in the heart of the old town, meandering through cobbled streets that seemed to whisper stories of the past. Every corner revealed something fascinating—from medieval churches to quaint local shops and cafés. The highlight, without a doubt, was the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mark brought the Knights Templar history to life with compelling stories and insights. The intricate Manueline architecture and the mysterious Charola (rotunda) were breathtaking. We ended the tour at the Castle. Mark walked at a pace ensuring it was comfortable for all ages and abilities. What made the tour truly special was the personal touch—Mark took time to point out local legends, hidden gems, and even recommended the best spots for traditional pastries, restaurants and bars. Tomar is a place where history feels alive, and this walking tour is the perfect way to experience it. Whether you're a history buff or just looking to soak up some Portuguese charm, this tour is a fantastic, unforgettable experience.Posted on Google Alex CosgroveTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our family had a wonderful time on the walking tour around Tomar with Mark! He incorporated insightful information with great storytelling and brought the history of the area to life. His description of the castle under siege made me feel like we were in the battle! And it was nice to have a guide who injected humor along the way... We had a group of 6 and Mark adjusted the pace to accommodate everyone. He is knowledgeable, witty and gave information in the shade since it was a sunny, hot day! Mark is a great story teller, he’s very entertaining and chose interesting sites to stop at. He took us through parts of town and then up to the castle. Everyone in the group really enjoyed it.
